$3,450
The procedure fee includes the surgical component and standard postoperative care. Any additional costs, where applicable, are discussed during consultation.

Fees and treatment options are discussed transparently during consultation.
Thread Lift for the Upper Eyelids (Non-Surgical Option)
Thread lifting is a non-surgical option that may be considered by selected patients seeking a subtle change in the appearance of the upper eyelids. This approach does not involve skin excision and differs from surgical blepharoplasty.
The procedure uses fine sutures (threads) placed beneath the skin to provide support and reposition selected tissue in the upper eyelid area. Suitability is determined during consultation based on individual anatomy, skin quality, and expectations.
Durable Suture Technique (DST)
Dr Kim uses a suture-based method commonly referred to as the Durable Suture Technique (DST) when performing upper eyelid thread lifting in appropriate cases. This technique was first described in peer-reviewed literature in 2010 and has since been refined through ongoing clinical use and evaluation.
Dr Kim has been involved in the development, application, and long-term assessment of this technique over many years. A publication describing long-term clinical experience with the Durable Suture Technique was published in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery in 2024, outlining its use, considerations, and outcomes over an extended period of practice.

This work reflects sustained clinical experience with suture-based eyelid techniques rather than a single procedure or short-term outcome. As with all cosmetic procedures, results vary between individuals, and outcomes depend on patient selection, anatomy, and healing response.
What Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty Can and Cannot Do
Surgical blepharoplasty involves the removal of excess skin and, where appropriate, fat.
Thread lifting of the upper eyelids does not remove skin and is therefore not a substitute for surgery in patients with significant excess eyelid skin.
Thread lifting may be discussed for patients with:
-
Mild to moderate upper eyelid laxity
-
A preference for non-surgical treatment
-
An understanding of the limitations and temporary nature of suture-based techniques
Thread lifting may not be suitable for patients who:
-
Have significant excess upper eyelid skin
-
Are seeking dramatic or long-term correction
-
Have expectations more appropriate for surgical blepharoplasty
In such cases, surgical blepharoplasty may be discussed as an alternative during consultation.
Procedure and Recovery
-
Typically performed under local anaesthesia
-
Procedure time varies depending on individual factors
-
Recovery experiences differ; some patients resume routine activities within a few days, while others may prefer longer recovery
-
Swelling, bruising, or discomfort may occur and are discussed during consultation
Important Considerations
Thread lifting is a non-surgical, suture-based option with inherent limitations. All procedures carry risks, and outcomes are not guaranteed. A consultation is required to assess suitability, discuss risks and alternatives, and ensure expectations are realistic.
