Why Choose Dr Peter Kim?
Eyelid Rejuvenation: More Than Just Surgery
The eyes are often the first place to show signs of ageing, and those changes happen in more than one way. Skin loosens, volume is lost, and the eyelid crease can shift. Because ageing affects several layers at once, the best results usually come from a tailored combination of treatments rather than a single procedure.
At our clinic, Dr Kim looks at the whole eye area and recommends the approach that suits your face, your goals and your lifestyle. Sometimes that includes surgery, and often it doesn’t need to.
How the Eye Area Ages, and How We Can Help
Fine lines and crepey skin
Over time, the skin around the eyes becomes thinner and more prone to wrinkles. Eyelid surgery can remove excess, sagging skin, but it can’t smooth every fine line or improve skin texture.
That’s where non-surgical treatments come in. Cosmetic injectables and laser skin treatments can soften lines, improve skin quality and complement or even delay the need for surgery.
Hollowness and tear troughs
As we lose volume, parts of the eye area can start to look hollow. The tear trough, the groove running from the inner corner of the eye down onto the cheek, is a common example. It can make you look tired even when you feel rested.
Carefully placed dermal fillers can restore lost volume and soften these hollows for a fresher, more rested appearance. Treatment of this area requires a precise technique, so experience matters.
A drooping eyelid crease
With age, the upper eyelid crease can slowly shift downwards, making the eyes look heavier and less defined. In suitable patients, the crease can be lifted and redefined using our Durable Suture Technique. This is an incision-free thread method developed by Dr Kim, backed by a published 15-year follow-up study. It is performed under local anaesthetic in our clinic and usually takes around 15 minutes.
A Personalised Plan for Your Eyes
No two faces age the same way. During your consultation, Dr Kim will assess your skin, volume, eyelid position and overall eye shape, then explain which options are suitable for you. Depending on what you need, that may be a non-surgical treatment, a combination of treatments, or surgery.
He will also take you through the expected recovery, possible risks and realistic outcomes for each option. As with any cosmetic treatment, results vary from person to person.
